The Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors were the overall winners at the recently concluded 3rd Annual Tobago swim classics held at the Kendal Aquatic Facility hosted by the Tobago Youth Development Centre and sponsored by Bmobile on Sunday 22nd July, 2018. The team won with a total of 789 points beating 2017 winners Tidal Wave Aquatics Swim Club Trinidad (702) and Tobago Youth Development Center (201).

 

The swim team contingent comprising of 20 swimmers participated whole heartily under the tutelage of head coach Mosi Denoon and assistant coach Rochelle Pierre. The team managed to accumulate 13 overall trophies and a mammoth medal haul of 91 medals (62 Gold medals, 18 Silver medals, 11 Bronze medals).

 

The swim team contingent comprised of two categories, developmental and competitive. The developmental team consisted of, Renata Thomas and Israel Jorden in the 7 – 8 age group category, Tiana Peterkin, Tamia Peterkin and Jai Li Dickenson in the 9-10 age group category and in the 11 and Over age group category, Alisha Jack, Inez Thomas, Judy Thomas, Timothy Clarke, Justin Thomas, Nicholai Peterkin and Edwyn Thomas.

 

The competitive team consisted of national swimmer Jacob Cox and Alexis Douglas in the 9 – 10 age group category, Joseph Cox in the 11 – 12 Age Group Category and national swimmers Ornella Walker, Rochelle Pierre and Dante Williams along with teammates Brianna Percy and John Procope in the 13 & Over age group category.

 

The Overall winners from the Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors from the recently concluded Tobago Swim Classics were, in the developmental category, in the 8 and under age group, Isreal Jordon placed 1st overall for the Boys and Renata Thomas placed 2nd Overall in the 8 & Under Girls. In the 8 – 9 age group, Tamia Peterkin placed 2nd Overall. In the 13 & Over age group, with a clean sweep in the Girls category, Inez Thomas placed 1st overall followed by teammates Judy Thomas (2nd overall) and Alisha Jack (3rd overall). Nicholai Peterkin placed 1st overall in the Boys 13 & over age group followed by teammate Edwyn Thomas who placed 2nd overall in before mentioned age group.

 

In the competitive category, 9 – 10 age group, Jacob Cox placed 2nd overall in the Boys category and teammate Alexis Douglas placed 3rd overall in the 9 – 10 Girls category. In the 11 – 12 Age group, Joseph Cox placed 1st overall. In the 13 & over age group, Dante Williams placed 1st overall in the Boys category and teammate Brianna Percy placed 2nd overall followed by Ornella Walker who placed 3rd overall in the Girls 13 & over age category.
