The XXIV Goodwill Swimming Championships is set to take place from August 17th – 19th at the Barbados Aquatic Centre, Wildey, St. Michael, Barbados.

 

Three members from the Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors have been selected by ASATT and Council to be members of the Trinidad and Tobago National Goodwill Swim Team as ratified on Tuesday 17th February, 2018 at a meeting held at the National Aquatic Centre, Couva, Trinidad.

 

Swim team members selected to represent Team TTO in swimming at the XXIV Goodwill Championships were Jacob Cox and Dante Williams. Additionally, Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors Asst. Coach Rochelle Pierre, was also selected as one of the National Asst. Coaches for the XXIV Goodwill Championships Team.

 

Jacob Cox will be competing in the 50-meter Butterfly event, 50-meter Breaststroke event and the 100-meter Breaststroke event. Additionally, he will be competing in the 400-meter Medley and Freestyle relay.

 

Dante Williams will be competing in the 50-meter and 100-meter Freestyle event, 50 meter and 100-meter Backstroke event, 50 meter and 100-meter Butterfly event and the 400-meter Medley and Freestyle relay.

 

The national swim team which comprises of 32 swimmers and 3 coaches would commence their national training sessions on Saturday 21st July, 2018 until Saturday 11th August, 2018 before the team departs for Barbados.
