The ASATT 5K Carifta 2018 Open Water Qualifier which was held on Saturday, February 03rd, 2018 at the Point - a -Pierre Yacht Club Harbor, Point - a – Pierre, Trinidad hosted a total of 19 swimmers at the recently concluded Carifta trails.

 

Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors swimmer Dante Williams placed 4th overall in the highly competitive 16 - 18 Boys Age group finishing in a personal best time of 1:03:21.11 behind William Reyas of Tidal Wave Aquatics (1:01:33.50), Gabriel Bynoe of Tidal Wave Aquatics (1:00:32.32) and overall winner Josiah Parag of Blue Dolphins Swim Club (1:00.07.71).

 

Each country participating at the Carifta Games would be able to enter a maximum of three (3) competitors per age group in the open water male and female categories of the XXXIII 2018 Carifta Aquatics Championships which is to be held at the James Bond Beach, Oracabessa, Jamaica from April 2nd to 4th, 2018.

Dante Williams who placed 4th in his respective age group would now become the first alternate for the Open Water National Team position.
