This weekend, on Sunday 15th October, 2017, Aqua Warriors swimmers Theo Bicknell-Roberts, Timothy Clarke, Brianna Percy, Justin Thomas and Nicholai Peterkin all competed at the recently concluded Peter Awong Memorial Swim Meet held in Trinidad this Sunday 15th October, 2017. This team of five returned with a total of Three Trophies and 14 medals (2 Gold, 4 Silver and 8 Bronze).

Timothy Clarke won the 2nd place overall high point trophy for the 11-12 Boys Developmental Age group category and collected a total of five medals at the Peter Awong Swim Meet. Clarke claimed Gold in the 25-meter Butterfly clocking a PB Time of 18.78 ahead of competitors Austin Maxime of Blue Dolphins Swim Club (20.02) and Graeme Waithe Toussaint of Torpedoes Swim Club (22.14). He then picked up a Silver medal in the 25-meter Breaststroke narrowly missing the gold by clocking a PB time of 20.88 behind Austin Maxime of Blue Dolphins Swim Club (20.83). Similarly, he claimed another Silver medal in the 25-meter Backstroke clocking a PB time of 20.04 behind Austin Maxime of Blue Dolphins Swim Club (19.95). Clarke went on to claim Bronze in both the 50-meter Freestyle, clocking a PB time of 36.05 behind Austin Maxime of Blue Dolphins Swim Club (35.57) and Keanu Morean of Tsunami Swim Club (34.47) and then another Bronze medal in the 25-meter Freestyle clocking a PB time of 16.58 behind Keanu Morean of Tsunami Swim Club (15.85) and Austin Maxime of Blue Dolphins Swim Club (15.30).

Nicholai Peterkin picked up three medals and claimed the 2nd place overall high point trophy for the 13-14 Boys Developmental Age group category. Peterkin claimed Gold in the 25-meter Breaststroke clocking a PB time of 19.27 beating competitors Jonah Samuel of Tsunami Swim Club (19.42) and Jamal Ali Yarna of Petrotrin Barracudas Swim Club (19.50).  He then went on to collect a Silver medal in the 25-meter Butterfly clocking a PB Time of 16.66 behind Jonah Samuel of Tsunami Swim Club (15.11) and a Bronze medal in the 25-meter Freestyle clocking a PB time of 14.21 behind Jamal Ali Yarna of Petrotrin Barracudas Swim Club (14.02) and Jonah Samuel of Tsunami Swim Club (13.78). Additionally, Peterkin placed 5th in the 50-meter Freestyle and sixth in the 25-meter Backstroke.

 

Brianna Percy, just like her teammates, claimed five medals and also won the 3rd place overall high point trophy for the 13-14 Girls Competitive Age group category. Percy claimed Silver in the 100-meter freestyle clocking a time of 1:36.92 behind competitor Gabriella Acosta of Tsunami Swim Club (1:10.74). Percy went on to claim Bronze in the 100-meter Individual medley, 100-meter Butterfly, 100-meter Backstroke and the 50-meter freestyle. In the 100-meter Individual medley, Percy stopped the clock in a time of 1:34.46 behind Eden Edwards of Point Fortin Aqua Darts (1:24.64) and winner Gabrielle Acosta of Tsunami Swim Club (1:23.27). In the 100-meter Butterfly event, she clocked a time of 2:01.03 behind competitors Eden Edwards of Point Fortin Aqua Darts (1:44.10) and Alexia Sandy also of Point Fortin Aqua Darts (1:43.61).  In the 100-meter Backstroke Percy clocked a time of 1:34.03 behind Eden Edwards of Point Fortin Aqua Darts (1:29.12) and Gabriella Acosta of Tsunami Swim Club (1:27.63) and in the 50-meter freestyle clocking a time of 35.86 behind Eden Edwards of Point Fortin Aqua Darts (33.20) and Gabriella Acosta of Tsunami Swim Club (33.15).

 

Theo Bicknell-Roberts claimed Bronze in the 25-meter Breaststroke clocking a PB time of 27.23 behind Jayden Sonny of Tsunami Swim Club (27.06) and Isaiah Alexander of Tiger Sharks Swim Club (26.30). Additionally, Theo placed 6th in the 25-meter Freestyle and 7th in the 25-meter Backstroke, 25-meter Butterfly and 50-meter Freestyle.

 

Notable mention must be given to Justin Thomas who placed 6th in the 25-meter Butterfly, 8th in the 25-meter Backstroke, 9th in the 50-meter Freestyle, 10th in both the 25-meter Breaststroke and 25-meter Freestyle.
