TWO WARRIORS SELECTED TO XXXII CCCAN NATIONAL SWIM TEAM 2019
The XXXII CCCAN Swimming Championships is set to take place from 24th June – 8th July at the Barbados Aquatic Centre, Wildey, St. Michael, Barbados. The swimming championships comprises of Artistic Swimming from 24th – 27th June, Swimming from June 28th – July 2nd, Open Water Swimming from 3rd – 5th July and Water Polo from 4th – 8th July, 2019.
Two members from the Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors have been selected by ASATT and Council to be members of the Trinidad and Tobago National CCCAN Swim Team 2019 as ratified on Monday 27th May, 2019 at a meeting held at the National Aquatic Centre, Couva, Trinidad.
Swim team members selected to represent Team TTO at the XXXII CCCAN Swimming Championships are Ornella Walker and Dante Williams.
Ornella Walker will be competing in the 50-meter, 100-meter, 200-meter Backstroke individual events and two relays with her teammates Cherelle Thompson, Kristin Julien and lleana Bocage. Teammate Dante Williams will be competing in the 50-meter and 100-meter Backstroke event.
The national swim team chosen comprises of 50 swimmers and 4 coaches would commence their national training sessions on Saturday 1st June, 2019 until Saturday 22nd June, 2019 before the team departs for Barbados on 27th June to retain the title as CCCAN Champions.
Last year, Team TTO created history by being one of the first English-speaking countries to ever win the coveted CCCAN Title.
