8 SWIMMERS REPRESENT AT PRIMARY SCHOOL SWIM MEET

8 members from the Tobago YMCA Aqua Warriors journeyed to Point Fortin to compete in the Primary School Swimming Invitationals held at the Point Fortin Borough Community Swimming Pool on Sunday 24th November, 2019. The team returned with 11 medals

(4 Gold medals, 4 Silver medals, 3 Bronze medals) and an overall 3rd place trophy. 

 

The team of 8 swimmers forming the Tobago combined were Makalya Olliverre from the Buccoo Government Primary School, Neichelle Orr and Israel Jordan of Lambeau Anglican Primary School, Renata Thomas of Signal Hill Primary School and Tiana Peterkin, Tamia Peterkin, Sydney Sandy and Malique Young from Scarborough RC School.  

 

Tamia Peterkin was the outstanding swimmer from the Tobago combined contingent attaining two bronze medals in the 25-meter Breaststroke event and the 25-meter Freestyle event respectively. Additionally, Peterkin placed 3rd overall in the 10 & Over Girls category.

 

Teammate Malique Young, also from Scarborough RC School, added to the overall medal tally

by winning a bronze medal competing in the 7-9 Boys 25-meter Breaststroke event.

 

The Tobago Combined relay team compromising of Makayla Ollivierre (Buccoo Government Primary School), Sydney Sandy (Scarborough RC School), Israel Jordan (Lambeau Anglican Primary School) and Malique Young (Scarborough RC School) also added to overall medal count racing to a Gold Medal in the Mixed 100-meter Medley Relay event

and a Silver Medal in the Mixed 100-meter Freestyle Relay event.

 

The Tobago contingent of swimmers under the tutelage of Head Coach Mosi Denoon returned to Tobago,

overjoyed by their performance last Sunday night (24-11-2019).
